Tucson Therapist ✽ Nicole Schutzbank
Hi, I’m Nicole
I believe therapy should be warm, welcoming, and creative to offer meaningful support.
My story
My life experiences have been valuable lessons in adapting and rebounding from challenges with the help of support. I learned to embrace my inner wisdom and allow it to guide me. This led me on the path of becoming a therapist. In addition to my passion for mental health and wellness, I've always felt a pull toward creative expression. Art has served as a medium to express myself, discover meaning, forge connections, and facilitate healing. It has also enriched my ability to listen attentively and shift perspectives. The desire to utilize creativity and help others motivated me to specialize in counseling and art therapy.

My values
✽ My values
My values are my guiding principles. These values shape every aspect of my practice, ensuring each client feels understood and supported. They are the foundation of the transformative work we do together.
-
Clarity
It all starts by focusing inward. I will help you reflect, gain insight, and discover how to overcome fears, distress, and challenges. We'll unlock your inner resilience and empower you to embrace life's challenges with confidence.
-
Connection
Cultivating the connection between your mind and body and building a strong rapport with me is fundamental. I will nurture trust, empathy, and safety, which you can carry into your everyday life for improved well-being and self-awareness.
-
Inclusivity
I am an LGBTQ+ ally and an advocate against racism. I provide an inclusive and affirming space with a social justice and trauma-informed approach to care. I acknowledge that I live and work on the ancestral lands of the Tohono O'odham Nation and Pascua Yaqui Tribe.

Creativity
Connecting with your creativity is the foundation of change. It allows us to try new things, problem-solve, self-express, be playful, and embrace our authentic selves. I believe that everyone is inherently creative and that it can be a tool for healing.
